How CJ Affiliate (VIVnetworks) works
CJ Affiliate is an American network. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia it is represented exclusively by VIVnetworks.com s.r.o. (part of Publicis Groupe), which sets up campaigns and helps in Czech. Registration and the whole interface, however, run on cj.com in English.
Without a company ID (IČO) you practically cannot join CJ. Your commissions are not paid by a Czech network but by a foreign company, and for VAT purposes you are providing it with a service. That is why you need a trade licence or a company and must be registered for VAT: either as a VAT payer or at least as a VAT identified person. VIVnetworks lists this as a requirement on its website and handles any exceptions individually.
In the Czech Republic, a VAT identified person is not a VAT payer but still reports to the tax office: for every month in which CJ pays you a commission, you file a VAT return and an EC sales list (souhrnné hlášení) electronically. In months without a payout you file nothing. For private individuals this is a big complication compared to Czech networks, so discuss the registration and reporting with an accountant or tax advisor.
The payouts themselves, on the other hand, arrive automatically: CJ pays once a month around the 20th by bank transfer or via Payoneer, without invoices. You set the minimum amount in your account.
Publishers with a trade licence or company who are already VAT payers or VAT identified persons, and sites with traffic from several countries. If you are starting without a company ID (IČO), eHUB, Dognet or Affial are easier.
